in 2003 and thought it was all gone. Now she has to have surgery because the cancer is spreading up her nose and the doctor said it could lead to brain cancer anyone have a similiar story and advice....
My mom has skin cancer on her face ( under her nose) it has been there for a few yrs now she had it removed..?
skin cancer such as melanoma is a aggressive form of the diease early signs of the cancer is pigmentation e.g. moles that start to bleed change shape itch or change colour if caught early the chance of getting it is quite rare but can happen but the good news if the doctors have found you moms cancer again and she is being treated the best advice i can give it to support her and try not to think of it spreding the doctor said its a possibilty not a fact i hope everything turns out ok.

I would suggest she consult her physician, and have the necessary surgery performed as quickly as possible. As far a cure, there isn't one, but I would try staying out of the sun and eating wisely with as many antitoxins as possible. This need not be fatal, but early surgery is extremely important.
Reply:I am so sorry to hear what you are all going tru. Cancer runs rampent in my family. All my moms siblings(5 of them) died by 50 years of age due to cancer. Theirs started out as skin cancer as well but it was not diagnosed back then. At least with your moms situation they seem to be right on top of it. They are much better with these sort of things nowadays. I will say a prayer for you all. Good luck honey.
Reply:Basal cell carcinoma is the most common cancer in the world. Dogma says that it will never metastasize and kill you, but there are those one in a million cases. The most common reason to have it removed, especially on the face, is because it gets bigger and is destructive.
Reply:I had answered your original question from two weeks ago about your mom's skin cancer but unfortunately a totally false answer was chosen as Best Answer. To correct that bad Best Answer - All cancers are not caused by infection.
You have not yet said whether your mom's skin cancer is a basal cell, squamous cell or melanoma. Both a basal cell and squamous cell could spread and lead to brain cancer. A squamous cell would probably spread quicker than a basal cell but since it has been several years since the cancer was removed the first time there has definitely been enough time for either type to cause your mom serious problems.
If her cancer is a melanoma then it will have had time to spread anywhere in the body, including her brain via the lymphatic system.
My advice remains the same. Make sure your mom has surgery to remove the cancer and that they check to make sure there are clean margins and no remaining cancer. This may mean having MOHs surgery or possibly post excision radiation. Your mom has let this go untreated for too long so she needs to be aggressive with having it treated now.
