My dog has redness under her nose where she has been licking the skin off and it is getting worse any ideas?

the redness is right above her mouth and below her nose. It is getting bigger and redder but there are no sores or blisters. It looks like the skin is falling off and exposing the pink skin underneith. I have not seen any other areas on her. I have been told it might be pemphigus, but she has no other symptoms. Is this contageous to other animals; dogs, cats..? Thanks for your help

How old is this dog? It could be that she is having allergies, but I have seen dogs with immune disorders have their noses turn pink, raw, cracked and bleeding. Check with your vet.

some ear mites could have gotten out of her ears and have been munching on the skin around her mouth if it is that you to take her to a vet to get it fixed
Reply:what does your VET think it is?
Reply:Is she scratching? Have you considered allergies? My mothers dog had a similiar problem becuase he was slightly allergic to grass.
Reply:Don't worry my dog had the same problem!!! All you need to do is to find something your dog doesn't like, like peanut butter. (make sure it won't sting the sore) It has to be in a paste form otherwise it will not work. Then just gently rub it on the sore. This should stop the dog from licking the sore. After that go to your local vet and ask for a cream to put on the sore to clear it up. I hope it works for you. Good luck!!!!
