I have a similar condition; it's called hyperkeratosis, or you may also have hyperpigmentation. The only thing that works for me is careful exfoliation and moisturizing. Please, however, see a doctor about this, as it frequently indicates a hormone or thyroid imbalance.

I've looked through a medical book once (bio major @ college), and I read something like that. It was spelled like acanthasis nigracans, or something like that. If you do have that, it's not deadly. It occurs in people that are overweight, or have high insulin levels. It MIGHT go away if you did a lot of exercise, but I would recommend seeing a dermotologist. Don't take my word as final. Research the name on Google and SEE the dermotologist. Like I said, it might not be particularly serious, but get a professional diagnosis.
Reply:just use lemon
Reply:four years is a long time to ignore some thing appearing on your skin..idont think it will go away by it self. you must see a skin specialist
Reply:Few questions for you to answer: Are you overweight ? Do you have a family history of Diabetes ? Any other hormonal problems ? What is your skin color ?

You could be suffering from "Acanthosis nigricans". It is a skin condition characterized by dark, thick, velvety skin in body folds and creases. It most often affects the armpits, groin and neck.It is mainly a cosmetic concern which gets resolved only if underlying problems are resolved. It's most obvious in people who have dark skin.

Now you can visit your local dermatologist and enquire whether this disease is "Acanthosis Nigricans" or not.
