Your right, but it also has to do with the lotions you use as well they will cause your skin to get black and dirty your jewelry.Sterling is really bad for it.

idk
Reply:it could also be reactions of your skin, the metal of the jewlry, and the minerals in your local water supply.
Reply:Sometimes if your jewerly is fake that happens.
Reply:This is a fairly common occurence especially amoung the tribes in south eastern asia. In 1823 a ship travelling from france lost its' compass and landed on a small island off the coast of this very area. The crew was greeted by the very friendly natives who myteriously were all wearing silver jewelry. This jewelry had stained their skin black. The crew of the ship noticed that the tribe had an almost exclusive diet of bananas. It seams that bananas are high in acid therefore the PH was Low! And there it is.
Reply:when certain metals rub your skin they will pull out the acids and oils, which will turn a green or black color. It isn't harmful. Some people believe it is healthy and helps with the purity of your skin and body.
Reply:sounds to me like you need your iron checked had this happen to me one time and the doctor said i had low iron
