our dog had the same thing we use ADVOCATE it is quite expensive but it really works. It is a 3 month pack and you re-apply every month. Our dog is like a new dog give it a go you will be suprised.
My dog is losing hair above and under his tail and has dry skin what should i use?
you shouldnt use anything, take him to a vet and get stuff from there,he,ll need a skin scrape to find out why he is losing his hair,if you buy any random product from a pet shop you could make it worse,

Reply:First a vet to find out why and treat it. Sounds like maybe fleas, maybe hot spots, maybe allergies. Only a vet can tell you for sure. Poor quality food can trigger skin problems too. Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. Reply:We use an omega-3 fish oil called 3V cups to help our dogs dry skin. It' not very expensive- about $10 for 2 months supply (depends on weight of dog). You can get it at most veterinary offices or www.1800petmeds.com.
