I had answered your original question from two weeks ago about your mom's skin cancer but unfortunately a totally false answer was chosen as Best Answer. To correct that bad Best Answer - All cancers are not caused by infection.

You have not yet said whether your mom's skin cancer is a basal cell, squamous cell or melanoma. Both a basal cell and squamous cell could spread and lead to brain cancer. A squamous cell would probably spread quicker than a basal cell but since it has been several years since the cancer was removed the first time there has definitely been enough time for either type to cause your mom serious problems.

If her cancer is a melanoma then it will have had time to spread anywhere in the body, including her brain via the lymphatic system.

My advice remains the same. Make sure your mom has surgery to remove the cancer and that they check to make sure there are clean margins and no remaining cancer. This may mean having MOHs surgery or possibly post excision radiation. Your mom has let this go untreated for too long so she needs to be aggressive with having it treated now.

good luck to you both
