When you have a scrape or scratch that doesn't draw blood, you sometimes get a film of clear liquid-stuff on the 'wound'.
What is this liquid if it isn't blood?
What is the semi-liquid just under the skin?
Lymph - A clear, transparent, watery liquid that contains white blood cells, and a few red blood cells, travels through the lymphatic system to return to the venous blood stream through the thoracic duct, and acts to remove bacteria and certain proteins from the tissues, transport fat from the intestines, and support lymphocytes in the blood.
