Does a cyst grows on top of the skin or under the skin, can its be pain full , can its growes in size?

They may grow on the skin or under the skin. I believe that they are more common under the skin, There are many types of cysts. I have had Several over the years, but have had a small one go away on it's own. I have never had pain with mine..http://www.medicinenet.com/cysts/article... I have had to have surgery twice though to remove some.

It grows under the skin and can grow to be extremely large if they are not taken care of. They are extremely painful. They need to be taken care of immediately. If they get too large a doctor will need to slice it open to drain it, then you will have to clean out the hole that its left for a while.

hey, cyst can get very painfull im only 15 an i had it under my arm i thought it was just a lump so i went 2 the docs and she gave antibiotics it got worse an d grew i couldnt even move my arm i thought i might hav had cancer but apparantly it can be curred so i had an opperation an it was removed iv still got the scar! but the docs told me u can get it anywhere under skin sumtimes its 2 do wid in grown hair!
