Actually your wrong oxygenated blood is not bright red. It is a very dark red and looking at it through layers of skin make it look blue. Also the more you relax the more blue your blood looks.
If you do a lot of exercise your blood becomes a light red color. This is why Royal people where called blue bloods. Because of there laid back lifestyle there blood underneath the skin generally looked blue.
Why do blood vessels look blue under the skin when blood is red.Even deoxygenated blood is bright red.?
because there are seven skin layers and fatty tissue cover it..

Reply:It is because of the Color of the veins. it gives the appearance of being blue. veins are not always red also, they are diff colored
Reply:Your heart constantly pumps blood throughout your body. Red blood cells take oxygen from your lungs to all the other cells in your body. The oxygen makes red blood cells look bright red. Once the cells have delivered this oxygen, the red blood cells look dark blue or purple. There are two types of blood vessels -- arteries are the blood vessels that carry oxygen-rich, bright red blood away from the heart, and veins are the ones that return oxygen-poor, dark blue blood back to the heart and lungs. Arteries are deeper inside your body, while veins are closer to the skin. So those blue blood vessels you see on the back of your arm are veins taking blood back to the heart and lungs to get pumped up with oxygen!
Reply:oxygenated blood is very bright red, deoxygenated blood is darker red.
im going to have a cup of tea now.
Reply:Blood vessels look blue as the veins that carry deoxygenated blood back to the heart are closest to the surface. Blood cells that carry oxgen around the body carry oxygen in a chemical called heamoglobin. Haemoglobin turns into, oxyhaemoglobin, which is red. When the oxygen has been transported and used by the cells the haemoglobin turns blue and is traqnsported back to the haeart in veins. When you cut yourself the blood becomes oxygenated and turns red. If there was no oxgen in the air the blood would still remain blue.
