Why do you get hard spots under the skin from diabetic shots?

That's scar tissue, rotate sites. Every time you inject insulin a bubble is formed and the tissue moves to accommodate it. Stretching the subcutaneous layer and eventually scarring it. Cosmetically it can cause superficial bruising but you should be more concerned that scar tissue causes delayed insulin absorption, so rotate sites frequently or a normal bolus could take an extended amount of time to work.

its because of all the insulin

It can be caused from injecting the same site too many times. Also sometimes if during the injection a muscle is hit, it can cause instant lump and bruising.
Reply:It's most likely the forming of scar tissue, which can happen with insulin shots. I have the same in my abdomen from years of shots. It's no big deal although it can impede insulin absorption.

You could try taking your shots in a different area. Before I went back on my pump, I would rotate from my abdomen to my thighs to my butt. Now, I'm back to using my abdomen.

Reply:It's lipotrophy (fat deposits). You need to seriously rotate, not just a few centimeters away. Leave the lumpy places completely alone and it will go away.
Reply:Fat necrosis
Reply:you need to change the site of your injections. if you leave that place alone for a while it will go away. you can use your upper arm, your thigh, your stomach, your butt. rotate every time so you do not damage one area. my favorite place is my stomach because i have more fat there to inject into.
