It doesn't seem to hurt him ( I can press on it and move it around) and it's been there for a few months. We have a checkup in December, should I go earlier?
My cat has this weired thing under his skin on his neck (back of the head)?
i use to work at a vets office as a tech it could be a number of things. it could be a cyst or even an abces that need to be drained right away before inection sets up. Either way it needs to be checked out. Good luck on that and hope he get well.

No wait for the check up. Unless of course it starts to get real big or something strange.
Reply:could be a sist i would take him 2 the vet.
Reply:yes. better safe then sorry
Reply:If you are worried about it then go sooner.
Reply:I would try to get your appointment moved sooner.
Reply:nahh you ok, kill kat, saute the meat add olive oil, serve over rice,
ohh dont eat the lump, they no good
serves 2-3
Reply:yes go eariewr hurry it might get worst and go all over his body because my dog had that once and the vet said if u would had waited it would have went all over his body!
Reply:are you sure you had kitty checked for this problem because it seems to bother you. Get a second opinion you are entitled to it.
Reply:Not to alarm you, but I would get him to a vet ASAP. There is something called VAS (Vaccine Associated Sarcoma) that is a cancer cats can get from vaccines and some vets still vaccinate in the scruff of the neck. The vaccine could have been years ago and the cancer develops later. I would have any lump biopsied just in case. It is a deadly cancer but is relatively rare. I did have a very special kitty die from it a few years ago. Good website for information is www.vas-awareness.org. I do hope it is not that!
